WHAT IS CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY?
“Creativity doesn’t wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones.” —Bruce Garrabrandt
Creative Arts Therapy utilises creativity to help you make sense of your experiences and help with your growth. In a safe, non-judgemental space you will express yourself. Creative Arts Therapy is a unique process for each individual. It can enhance emotional and physical wellbeing and is gentle in nature. During a session there will be on offer a variety of materials and we together will inquire into what you are creating and how you are making art. Some of these materials are collage, watercolours, soft pastels, charcoal, clay, and oil pastels. The offer of exploring movement, voice and role play are also possibilities.

Consumer Perspective Supervision
What is Consumer Perspective Supervision?
"In consumer perspective supervision the supervisor is experienced in at least two ways: they have experience working from a consumer perspective (as in the definitions used above) and they are able to create and maintain a reflective space for the supervisee to safely bring their concerns. The relationship is also founded on the concept of mutuality where mutual learning facilitates the exchange of life experiences, skills and knowledge that each person brings." (CPS Framework, 2018)
My Experience:
I completed my training in Consumer Perspective Supervision through Inside Out & Associates in VIC at the end of 2024. I have been working in a designated role as a Senior Peer Support Worker in a leading hospital for nearly two years. Before that I have worked as a peer worker in mental health with MIND Australia and SANE Australia. Previously working in the Personal Helpers and Mentors Program with The Benevolent Society. I have my own lived experience of mental distress, Recovery journey and navigating the mental health system. I have really developed a strong toolkit of strategies to look after my wellbeing which allows me to enjoy life and continue with the work I do to support others.
What I offer as a Supervisor:
A safe, mutual space to build a relationship together as supervisee and supervisor. I listen deeply and with empathy and will provide space to reflect. I will offer my experience and learnings. I will hold the consumer perspective and the values of Intentional Peer Support. Together we will navigate your work challenges and dilemas.

Connection
I love art making, writing poetry, photography, making little videos and being in nature. I am a loving dog owner to a little puppy called Buddy. I believe what's meant for you will find you. Everything is connected. Everything you need is already inside you. We just need to quieten our minds to hear the truth.
Trust the process.

Transformation doesn't ask that you stop being you. It demands that you find a way back to the authenticity and strength that's already inside of you. You only have to bloom.

Zeva was such a warm and kind support as she guided me through some powerful emotions. The connections she made between my feelings and the artwork i created felt so profound and really helped my healing. Her expertise really shone through in each session as there was always something new to do or explore. She did all of this through Zoom sessions which is amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better art therapy experience.

For the last 12 month we have had Zeva Mirankar- Art Therapist visit our home for sessions with my wife, Chrissy.
Chrissy had a heart attack, stroke and was left with an ABI - Acquired Brain Injury
Zeva was referred to us to try and get Chrissy to open up, explore focus, and visualise everything that is in a picture, a painting, or in everyday life around us
And then in time to communicate to and open her thoughts on colour, structure, texture, and to enjoy everything that is art. Chrissy was excited to try all the different art mediums.
The progress Chrissy has made in the last 12 months has been amazing.
From completing different projects and pieces to being able to describe and discuss a picture in detail.
Zeva has a way of using the therapy sessions to help communication, and get the person to open up and see and describe the beauty in everything. My wife loved these sessions. Zeva has a wonderful personality and nature and this makes her clients so comfortable and at ease, that the sessions just work so well.
Our family are very grateful for all the work Zeva has put in with Chrissy, and we would recommend Zeva immediately to anyone, who is in need of Art Therapy.
Thank you Zeva.
